It’s Time To Start Training For the OC Turkey Trot

November is race season! Well, maybe not, but joining a 5k race is an excellent way to help keep the weight down during the holidays. November and December can be gluttonous months for everyone–it’s the holidays, there’s no need to feel guilty–but why not jump ahead of that weight gain and start thinking about your health?

This year the Orange County’s Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning at 8am with its annual 5k race. The festivities, however, also include fun for the entire family with a youth and diaper dash race–you can get all the little ones involved. All runners will receive a medal, a turkey trot shirt, a pumpkin pie and refreshment throughout the race. Here is a quick look at the schedule of events.

9 A.M:  Diaper Dash – 200 yards (3 and under)
9:05 A.M:  Tot Trot  – 400 yards (4 to 5 years old)
9:10 A.M: Youth Race – Half Mile (6 to 10 years old)
9:15 A.M: Youth Race – Half Mile (11 to 12 years old)
**The 5K starts at 8:00 A.M
