BBQ Tips: How to Grill A Great Burger

Grilling a great burger is an art. However, you don’t have to be an expert chef or grill master to do so. All you need is a grill, some meat, and a little bit of patience. Here are a few tips for grilling a perfect burger this summer in your apartment.

Cook beef on high: cooking on medium to low heat will only dry out your piece of meat. Burgers were meant to be flash cooked with high heat in order to trap the juicy goodness inside.

Buy lean, use EVOO: buy lean meats and then mix the beef with extra virgin olive oil in order to keep it moist during the cooking process.

Always toast your bun: if you put a dry bun on a juicy burger, it will fall apart the second you bit into it. So be sure to always toast your bun.

3 Easy Ways To Make Father’s Day Special in Fullerton

Father’s Day is right around the corner and over the years dad have gotten a bad rap (and rightly so, men can be knuckle heads at times), but with the changing of the times Father’s have become far more active and involved in their children’s lives. If you have a fantastic dad, here are three easy ways to make Dads day great.

Let him know why is he great: compliments are always amazing and welcomed, but try giving dad specific praise. Tell him in detail why you love him and why he has been a great father.

No pressure: dads come in all shapes and sizes with different desires and personalities. So keep the day low pressure and do what dad might want to do. If you have an active dad, get up and go for a morning hike, or if dad would prefer to stay in, have breakfast on the couch and watch something on Netflix.

Stay in and cook: restaurants are typically busy on a Sunday and get even more packed on a special occasion. So just skip the lines and eat in. Dad will be sure to enjoy it.

Attend an Andy Warhol exhibit in Fullerton

Andy Warhol has turned into one of the most famous artist in the last century. Over the course of his lifetime, Warhol created thousands of drawings, paintings and other works. Here is a quick excerpt from the museum press release: “The late drawings from 1973 to 1987 employ a confident and fluid contour line to depict many of the same motifs of his iconic paintings: celebrity portraits, flowers and ads. Many of the drawings in this exhibition are on view for the first time.” If you are a fan, do not miss out on this wonderful art event.

3 Ways To Lose Your Apartment Deposit

Most renters do not begin to think about security deposits until it’s time to move out and in some cases, its already too late. Here are three ways to lose your security apartment, so make sure to avoid those pitfalls.

Damage: living in an apartment for any amount of time will cause some damage and landlords will typically not deduct deposits for daily wear and tear. Worn paint, or even small bits of warn carpet are fine. It’s the large damage, like broken door knobs, cabinets or anything else that will leave your deposit at risk.

Repairs: not reporting repairs to your landlord can lead to large problems and in the end a deduction from your deposit. Always report anything that needs fixing (in writing) to your manager immediately.

Not reading your lease: not knowing and understanding your rights will leave you guessing and confused when it comes to getting a deposit back. Most times renters scan the lease and throw it to the side. You, however, will read the lease and ask your landlord about any questions or clarifications.

Where To Get Great Tasting Sushi In Fullerton

Nowadays most cities have a great tasting sushi spot on nearly every corner and Fullerton is no exception. Sushi can be an acquired taste, but if you are the adventurous type, the cuisine will become one of favorite meals. If you are new to sushi, do not be scared off by the menu or the chop sticks. The key is to stick with the simple stuff and order rolls until you are ready to truly explore the menu. If the taste of actual fish is too strong for your liking, stick to rolls that use imitation crab or ones that only use veggies. Newbies will be surprised at the amount of options sushi restaurants actually have. If you are looking to try sushi soon, here are three great locations near your Fullerton apartment.
